State softball Friday guide: the restart, the brackets and the road to Saturday
Nebraska state softball is scheduled to resume Friday at 10 a.m. Central. Follow Class A, B and C scores, Game Centers and the updated path to Saturday.
The Nebraska state softball tournament returns to the schedule Friday after Thursday’s weather stoppage in Hastings. The NSAA’s revised plan calls for play to resume at 10 a.m. Central on Oct. 16. For fans trying to catch up, the key distinction is simple: Thursday’s partial scores are not finals, and a revised start time is not confirmation that a game has restarted.
The winners’ and elimination paths remain available in the all-class tournament center. Every matchup links to its Game Center, where the site shows the reported score and inning when that information is available. The NSAA’s official results control the bracket’s final outcomes.
Start with your class
Class A includes the Millard North–Millard West and Elkhorn South–Lincoln Southwest matchups on the winners’ side. Class B has Gretna East–Northwest and Gretna–Hastings. In Class C, the winners’ matchups are Kearney Catholic–Hastings St. Cecilia and Bishop Neumann–Ashland-Greenwood.
Use the bracket for the elimination games as well as the unbeaten teams. Later starts can depend on the game before them, so an “after” listing is a rolling start rather than a guaranteed clock time. Check the NSAA’s bracket before traveling; weather or a lengthy game can change the pace of the day.
What comes after Friday?
The revised schedule puts bracket finals on Saturday, Oct. 17, in Hastings. Championship games remain listed for Monday, Oct. 19, at Bowlin Stadium in Lincoln: Class C at noon, Class B at 3:30 p.m. and Class A at 7 p.m. Central. Those are the published plans, subject to further NSAA updates.
Follow live state softball scores and brackets. Keep the tournament center open for updated reports rather than relying on this article as a live scoreboard. For the reason behind the revised dates, read Thursday’s weather update. Friday football also has its own scores page; both sports stay available as the day changes.
