NSAA baseball is a spring sport in Nebraska with three classes, A, B and C. Here's what's set for the 2027 season so far; schedules and scores arrive before opening day.
- How many baseball classes are there in Nebraska?
- Three: A, B and C. In 2026 that was 83 teams (32 in Class A, 25 in B and 26 in C). NSAA hasn't released the 2027 classifications yet.
- How are baseball classes decided?
- Class A is every school with total enrollment of 850 or more (grades 9-11). The remaining schools split evenly into B and C by boys' enrollment. Class A is set for two years; B and C are reclassified every year.
- When does the 2027 season start?
- Pitchers and catchers may begin Feb. 1, 2027, first practice is March 1, 2027, and the first games are March 18, 2027. NSAA notes future dates are subject to change.
- How do teams make the state tournament?
- Eight teams per class: the six district champions plus the two non-champions with the highest wildcard point averages. District tournaments are May 6-8, 2027. At state, the field is seeded 1-8 into two four-team double-elimination brackets, and the two bracket winners meet in a winner-take-all final.
- When and where is the 2027 state tournament?
- May 17-22 and 24, 2027 in the Omaha area, at Werner Park in Papillion and Tal Anderson Field at UNO, with secondary sites around the metro.
- Who won the 2026 state baseball titles?
- Millard North (Class A), Omaha Skutt Catholic (Class B) and Lincoln Lutheran (Class C), all on May 23, 2026, at Werner Park.
