Nebraska football playoff picture after Week 8: Classes D1 to D6
Where Classes D1, D2, D3 and D6 stand in NSAA's wildcard points after Week 8, with the bubble and Week 9 games to watch.

This is where Nebraska's eight-man and Class D6 classes stand heading into Week 9. NSAA's wildcard points updated at 7:42 a.m. CT Saturday, Oct. 17, after most of Week 8. Fourteen Week 8 games still had no score on NSAA's export at that update, and NSAA tiebreakers are not applied here.
Everything below is projected unless it says clinched. Points are NSAA's regular-season point averages, and ranks are NSAA's order by those points. Clinches are counted conservatively from NSAA's district records. No D1, D2, D3 or D6 team had clinched a district title at that update. Classes A through C2 are in a companion story.
Class D1
Johnson-Brock (8-0) leads D1 with 45.8750 points, ahead of Ravenna (8-0, 45.1250). Crofton (7-1) and Sandy Creek (7-1) are tied for third at 44.1250. The field is seven district champions plus nine wild cards, so there is no fixed points cutoff yet. By points alone, Cross County (5-3, 39.8750) is 15th, Tri County (6-2, 39.7500) is 16th and Alma (5-3, 39.1250) is 17th.
Ravenna visits Sandy Creek in Week 9, and both are 3-0 and tied (projected) in D1-6. In D1-7, Amherst and Alma (both 2-1) meet at Alma, while Elm Creek (2-1) hosts Kimball. Stanton (4-0) visits Wisner-Pilger (3-1) in D1-4, and Thayer Central visits Tri County in D1-1, with both 3-1. Two D1 Week 8 games had no NSAA score yet: Conestoga at Elmwood-Murdock and David City at Tekamah-Herman.
Class D2
Shelby-Rising City (8-0) leads D2 with 44.8750 points, followed by North Platte St. Patrick's (8-0, 44.2500) and Loomis (8-0, 43.2500). The field is six district champions plus 10 wild cards. By points alone, BDS (5-3, 38.8750) is 15th, and Fullerton and South Loup (both 4-4) are tied for 16th at 38.1250. BDS also leads D2-4 at 4-0.
Howells-Dodge visits Laurel-Concord-Coleridge in Week 9, and both are 4-0 and tied (projected) in D2-2. Shelby-Rising City (4-0) plays at Aquinas Catholic (3-1) in D2-1, and BDS (4-0) visits Superior (3-1) in D2-4. Niobrara-Verdigre at Bloomfield had no NSAA score yet for Week 8.
Class D3
Lawrence-Nelson (8-0) leads D3 with 45.6250 points, ahead of Archangels Catholic (7-1, 44.5000) and Central Valley (7-1, 44.1250). The field is seven district champions plus nine wild cards. By points alone, Falls City Sacred Heart (5-3, 40.7500) is 15th, Leigh (6-2, 39.8750) is 16th, St. Mary's (4-4, 39.7500) is 17th and Southern Valley (5-3, 39.6250) is 18th.
Central Valley (4-0) visits Burwell (3-1) in D3-4. Leigh visits Guardian Angels Central Catholic in D3-2, with both 3-1 in the district. Hyannis (2-0) visits Dundy County Stratton (3-0) in D3-7, with the two tied (projected) for the lead. Three D3 Week 8 games had no NSAA score yet: Axtell at Blue Hill, Sandhills Valley at Mullen and Sutherland at Hyannis.
Class D6
Stuart (7-0) leads D6 with 45.2857 points, ahead of Medicine Valley (7-0, 44.4286). Diller-Odell and Wallace (both 6-1) are tied for third at 44.1429. D6's districts are for scheduling only, so the top 16 by points qualify. Grand Island Lutheran, High Plains Community and Sterling (all 4-3) are tied for 16th at 39.7143, and only one of the three keeps that spot after NSAA tiebreakers. Mead (3-3, 39.5000) is 19th. Hay Springs (4-3, 40.1429) is 15th.
Thursday, Medicine Valley visits Wallace, Hay Springs visits Crawford (14th, 40.4286) and Red Cloud visits Grand Island Lutheran. Friday, Leyton visits Garden County and Sterling visits Lewiston. Mead's Week 8 game at Nebraska Lutheran had no NSAA score yet. Santee at Ansley-Litchfield and Potter-Dix at South Platte also had no score.
