Gretna won the Class B state softball title with four wins, three of them by one run, and beat Gretna East 2-1 in Monday's final. These are NEB Preps selections, not NSAA honors, built only from NSAA's official box scores for the 14 Class B games.

How we picked: NEB Preps totaled every player's hitting and pitching from NSAA's official box scores for all of the class's state tournament games, then weighed production against team results, giving the champion and runner-up extra weight. Players are listed by first initial and last name as the box scores show them; anyone whose name the box scores cut off or left unclear was not considered.

Tournament MVP

K. Hinerman, Gretna East: 8-for-18 with two doubles, three home runs, nine runs, five RBIs and two walks over five games for the runner-up. She doubled and scored Gretna East's run in the final.

Top Pitcher

T. Rupiper, Gretna: Pitched all 29 innings of the champion's four wins, allowing 17 hits, 10 earned runs, 14 walks and 40 strikeouts, including a nine-strikeout four-hitter in the final.
