Westside at Millard South
Westside has outscored opponents 409-92 in eight NSAA-scored games. Its closest game was a 35-14 win over Lee's Summit High of Missouri on Sept. 4, and it shut out Omaha Central (62-0) and Norfolk (63-0). It beat four teams that are in NSAA's current top 16: Creighton Prep, Papillion-La Vista, Lincoln North Star and Papillion-La Vista South. Its latest result was a 49-7 win at Papillion-La Vista South on Oct. 16.
Millard South has outscored opponents 399-159. Two of its wins were decided by two points or fewer: 35-34 over Millard North on Aug. 28 and 49-47 over Omaha North on Sept. 25. It has also beaten Elkhorn South and Millard West, so it too has four wins over teams in the current top 16. It shut out Millard West (59-0) and Lincoln East (65-0) in its last three games.
In that 65-0 win over Lincoln East on Oct. 15, Hurrdat Sports reported that quarterback Trae Taylor threw six first-half touchdown passes and completed 20 of 22 passes for 312 yards. Hurrdat also reported that Millard South's defense held Lincoln East to three first downs and 17 yards.
The two teams have no common opponent this season. Both played schools from Lee's Summit, Mo., on Sept. 4, but different ones: Westside beat Lee's Summit High 35-14, and Millard South beat Lee's Summit North 24-14.
NSAA's regular-season records since 2020 show two earlier meetings, both Westside wins: 41-34 at Westside on Oct. 13, 2022, and 31-14 at Millard South on Oct. 13, 2023. The two programs have also won the last four Class A titles between them. NSAA's champions list shows Westside winning in 2020, 2022 and 2023 and Millard South in 2024 and 2025. Millard South beat Westside 27-10 in the 2024 final.
Under NSAA's point system, a win over a first-division team, one that wins more than 77% of its games, is worth 50 points, the most a game between two Class A teams can earn. A loss to one is worth 36. Both teams will finish no worse than 8-1, so Friday's winner gets 50 points and the loser gets 36.
Millard North at Bennington
Millard North has outscored opponents 295-83. Its only loss was that 35-34 game at Millard South on Aug. 28, and it has won seven straight since, including a 14-13 win at Elkhorn South on Oct. 1. Its latest result was a 42-0 win over Millard West on Oct. 16.
Bennington has outscored opponents 324-76 in eight scored games. Its closest game was a 27-23 win at Kearney on Oct. 2.
